Esther Groenhof is passionate about working with couples, families and children. Having received a Masters degree in Counselling Psychology in 2000, Esther co-founded Lighthouse Therapeutic Services (a private practice counselling agency in Langley, BC). From 2000-2003, Esther was the Director of Fraser River Counselling, a counselling training facility for first year Masters level psychology students at Trinity Western University.

Since 2003, Esther has worked as a therapist at Child & Youth Mental Health in Chilliwack (part of the Ministry of Children & Family Development), where she is on the intake and assessment team and is liaison to the child welfare teams. Esther specializes in helping couples build on their strengths and enhance their relationships, particularly through focusing on effective communication. She has been instrumental in the development of the Building Healthy Relationships (BHR) workshops, which she has been involved in since 1998. Esther has been married for 12 years to musician Peter Groenhof, and they have a 2 year old daughter and another little one on it’s way, due in January 2009.
